Located
in China Town, the food in China Garden is tasty and is rather affordable. Like
most joints in Tangra, this bar-cum-restaurant too has an ambience which is
homely, warm and inviting. It has two levels. The upper level is highly
decorated and has comfy sofas but is available for family only. The lower
section has cushioned steel chairs and is for others like a group of friends or
colleagues. Except for weekends, this place is rarely full and is therefore
peaceful. The best dishes here are pepper chicken, chicken drumstick, salt
& pepper chicken, dry garlic chicken, dry chili chicken, fried babycorn, golden
fried prawns or fish items. These side dishes come in half (10-12 pieces) or
full (18-20) pieces. The full plate costs around Rs. 210 - 230 and the half plate around Rs. 140-155 for
chicken dishes. Any rice, chowmein or
chop-suey can be ordered with it, though most of these dishes are usually eaten
with drinks by most people who visit here. Fried Rice/chowmein costs around Rs. 100-110. Beer costs around Rs.110. Drinks are available in peg system as well as bottle scheme. Drink pegs are available from Rs. 60-70 to 150 depending on the brands. 750 ml bottles are available from Rs. 650 to 1500 depending on the whiskey / vodka brands. Both Indian as well as foreign liquor are available here. Soups and desserts are normal. This place is best for the scrumptious authentic Chinese starters and low priced drinks. It is located just opposite of Beijing, one of the renowned and oldest restaurants in Chinatown. It is ideal for a large group of people like 5-6 or more. Bookings can be made through phone.
