Mango People Interiors |
Finally an economical
restaurant located in the prime area of Golpark (Gariahat Road), Mango
People, which serve decent food to “Aam Aadmi” [Mango People] of South Kolkata. It offers Chinese, Fast Food, Continental dishes
and mouth watering delights. However the place is very small (4 tables for 15
persons in total) and you will be quite fortunate to get a table in busy hours.
The table cloth, divan, cushioned chairs all are red in color with matching red
cotton napkins as well. There is live cooking within an open kitchen separated
from the dining area by transparent glass walls. Mostly college students and
youngsters turn up in large numbers at this place. The waiters are courteous to
make suggestions while taking orders from customers and also serve a
complimentary bowl of chips when the food is being prepared.

Chilli Mushrooms |
We took the corner table that has a view of the street outside and cozy enough to make a great mood for chit-chats. We wanted to order a mix of both Continental and Chinese. So we ordered Chicken wrapped in bacon and Crispy chilly baby corn, but to our disappointment, both were not available. So we settled for Chilly Garlic Shrimp, Crispy Chicken and Chilli Mushrooms. The crispy chicken boneless had a really crunchy coating & was served with the mango people sauce that adds to the tanginess. Without the sauce the chicken would be too dry for consumption. The Chilly Garlic Shrimp had 8 pieces of soft prawns marinated with green pepper and condiments and served with onions, capsicum & green chilies. The Chilli Mushrooms had generous amounts of corn flour coated mushrooms along with green onions, spring onions, onions, capsicums and green chilies. Some of their best dishes are Chicken Khichidi, Spare ribs (Pork), Paneer Keema, Ham / club Sandwich and Masala Omelette. Don’t forget to try Mango Prawn Salad at the end that has 4-5 average sized prawns and freshly cut mango with mayo dressing, garnished with sliced lemon and a cherry on top!

Crispy Chicken |
Since this restaurant targets the common man, I
think they should install a water purifier instead of charging for packaged
mineral water only. The tables are very small and it’s quite difficult to
manage with more than 3 orders at a time. They also do not serve plates other
than the side plates unless asked for. The menu could also have been improved
with more no. of vegetarian items. The prices are easy on the pocket and the Cost of a complete meal for Two Persons
is around Rs. 400 – 450. Weighing the pros and cons, this budget eatery has
started quite a revolution in South Kolkata and must be visited by all.

Mango People Restaurant looks stunning, clean and cosy to dine in with. The food also looks appetizing, unlike the restaurants posted in http://alltopreviews.com/services/essayshark which lacks good service and good food.
