Located just opposite to RDB Big Cinemas main entrance of Sector V, this multi-cuisine food joint, Go Where has become one of the most favourite hangout destinations for Office, IT crowd and nearby college folks. Due to its cheap alcohol and average food price, this restaurant cum bar is crowded on most weekends and weekday evenings. Dimly lit with couches this joint has 2 sections. The inner section is well decorated and cozy compared to outer section. The music they play in the background is popular Bollywood movie tracks and it’s too loud to hear even your own voice. They allow smoking inside the restaurant, which I feel can be disturbing to some visitors. This lounge is surely not a place for family visits. The seating arrangement is better in the inner segment of the restaurant, whereas the front section is overcrowded due to small place and poor seating arrangement.

After its first Salt Lake outlet near College More Sector 5, Azad Hind Dhaba has come up with a new branch at Globsyn Crystals building, Salt Lake Sector V. It’s a quite massive outlet spanned in 2 levels having capacity to accommodate 78 persons. Always crowded with regular office a goer of this area, this popular Punjabi Dhaba serves you till midnight (Till 3 a.m. at night during festive seasons of Durga Puja, Diwali & Christmas. This particular outlet is decorated after Bengal and Punjab rural arts (terracotta patachitra on the mud walls), with big chakras (painted cartwheels) and dim lights of Terracotta Lamps hanging from the bamboo rafters. The air conditioned restaurant makes you feel seated in a normal roadside dhaba by its amazing clay wall decoration and terracotta art work.

With Linkin Park, Bon Jovi, Jimi Hendrix and Bob Marley posters around and reasonable prices of drink, it is a favorite haunt for an evening out drinking with friends. The interior lights are dim and the black leather sofas are large and comfy. There is a large lcd screen that usually shows live matches on sports channels. Rock music plays in the background after 6 pm that sets up the mood for party revelers.

Feel like tucking into some Mughlai food? Only Alibaba is a good option. It’s a very small and simple restaurant; pretty much the ideal place to grab a quick & cheap meal with friends or colleagues in the busy IT sector. Only Alibaba was born on 24th September 2008. Like Alibaba who took on the combined might of 40 thieves, ONLY ALIBABA took on the might of the Mughalai food business in its very own food district of Park Circus in Kolkata. The discerning pallet of the people of Kolkata has given Only Alibaba a unique standing. Since the world has become health conscious, the oil, the basic ingredient of all cooking, used here is of the best quality and is refined oil only. No dalda and animal fat is used in the kitchen. The interiors are not that fancy. Just ordinary glass tables and metallic (steel) chairs with reddish colored interiors. There are wall plasters falling off at some places. There is no toilet facility, only wash-basin. Parking is a big problem in that busy location. Still the place can be very crowded sometimes because of its affordable and delicious good; and the food items especially the biriyani gets finished on most days! Biriyani and kebabs tastes good and is very popular. The chicken of gravy items was very hard. The service is not that good as they take a lot of time in serving order. On an expansion mode always, they now have eleven outlets in Kolkata and therefore it is possible for them to do free home delivery anywhere within the city limits within 55 minutes of placing the order, 365 days in the year from 10 am to 10 pm. Located close to Saltlake Stadium and Broadway Mall, 777 is a bar cum multi-cuisine restaurant which was formed 3-4 years ago by renovating an older restaurant that existed at that place. It is an air-conditioned restaurant located on first floor with red cushioned chairs and glass tables. Through the heavily curtained glass panes, one can see the saltlake stadium on the opposide side. Though the interiors are not that amazing, but the Indian food tastes really good. It also serves Chinese (like fried rice, babycorn, crispy chicken) and Continental (like Chicken a la kiev) along with drinks. Chicken Biriyani (Rs. 200) and Mutton Biriyani (Rs. 230) is served in handi. It’s quantity is plentiful and 3 persons can easily share 2 plates. Chicken Bharta (Rs. 230) tastes delicious and melts in the mouth. Chicken reshmi masala and tikka masala are also popular. Masala Kulcha (Rs. 55), Butter roti, Tandoori Roti (Rs. 25) can be tried alongside the main course. Service is good, if the place is not too crowded. The toilets are clean. Parking Space is also available in front of the building. A complete meal for two persons will cost around Rs. 600 (inclusive of taxes).

Situated in the busy office locality and IT sector V of Saltlake, this new multi-cuisine restaurant, Kabir’s The Mystic, boasts of scrumptious & mouth-watering Afghani, Mughlai, Indian, Continental and Chinese delicacies. The restaurant can accommodate around 50- 65 persons and its interior decor has a white theme with large plush white sofas, low white tables, white designed walls, white bar tools, and also a white bar table with shelves in the shape of champagne bottles. The bar serves only mocktails, however alcohol is served only on weekends as of now, but will be extended to other days soon. Of the various dishes on Indian & Afghani menu, you could try out, Afghani tandoori Chicken (full – 8 pcs) @ Rs. 450 as a starter along with Chef’s Non-veg Salad Soup @ Rs. 115 (Chinese dish serving 2 persons). From Chinese, you can have Crispy Chilli Fish @ Rs. 210 as starter. In the main course, the most favorite items are Hari Mirch ka bhuna Gosht (mutton 4 pcs) @ Rs. 270, Jhinga Dum Ki (tiger prawn 4 pcs) @ Rs.350, Veg Jaipuri @ Rs. 145, Corn palak @ Rs. 145. The choices of bread along with these side dishes are Lachha Paratha @ Rs. 35, Lifafa Paratha @ Rs. 40, Tandoori Roti @ Rs. 30, Kulcha @ Rs. 40. In the Chinese section fried rice, chowmein, chili chicken, munchurian is good. Don’t forget to order Beloni with ice-cream @ Rs. 120 from the dessert section, though regular Ice cream (2 scoop) is available @ Rs. 105. A complete meal for two will cost around Rs. 1000-1100. The hospitality and behavior of the chef and waiters are very nice. However since the tables are low, one might feel uncomfortable to lean forwards to stoop down and eat. Traffic is much less at night and one can enjoy peaceful dining in a cool, cozy environment.
