Located just opposite to RDB Big Cinemas main entrance of Sector V, this multi-cuisine food joint, Go Where has become one of the most favourite hangout destinations for Office, IT crowd and nearby college folks. Due to its cheap alcohol and average food price, this restaurant cum bar is crowded on most weekends and weekday evenings. Dimly lit with couches this joint has 2 sections. The inner section is well decorated and cozy compared to outer section. The music they play in the background is popular Bollywood movie tracks and it’s too loud to hear even your own voice. They allow smoking inside the restaurant, which I feel can be disturbing to some visitors. This lounge is surely not a place for family visits. The seating arrangement is better in the inner segment of the restaurant, whereas the front section is overcrowded due to small place and poor seating arrangement.

Though it is located at a very unusual place of Kasba at Nabapally bus stop just a km away from Ruby, Harvey’s has the right World Cuisine that Kolkata needs with a blend of North Indian dishes and an array of Continental fare. An extensive glass showcase displays a vast collection of imported wines just at the entrance to the restaurant on second floor. The interiors have venetian blinds, wooden finished floors, ceiling air conditioning systems, faux flowers, wide cozy white sofas and marble-top tables. Through the transparent glass façade one can view the Rashbehari – EM Bypass connector. A lavish buffet spread was neatly placed at the centre of the restaurant with each dish on top of induction heaters set at the correct temperature.

Flame and Grill is one of the finest restaurants serving amazing kebabs and yes of course a never-ending delicious buffet!! Flame and Grill is in the topmost floor of the hugely popular South City Mall, a perfect place to attract the crowd! The ambience of the restaurant gives you the rejuvenated feeling of getting ready to indulge yourself in the pool of kebabs and many more items. The entire decor has a dark and wooden look!! The restaurant can comfortably accommodate more than 50 persons and the entire atmosphere makes one feel composed and active simultaneously! The restaurant has an interesting work of art, also used as a partition! It stretches from the ceiling till the floor in the form of a grid with each square containing a bottle of spice, herbs or masala!! To talk about the sitting arrangement, the tables, which are low in height along with wooden long chairs accommodating 2 people atleast! The most interesting fact about the table is its attatched "hot wok" (personal grill chamber)!!

Like Mags & Olypub, this bar cum Chinese restaurant, Silver Grill has been an old hangout zone for college students and after office crowd for well over three decades. The cheap prices of alcoholic drinks & classic cocktails are the major thing that attracts its regular customers of Park Street. It has two levels, the ground floor having the bar counter and the first floor restaurant invites only family. The interiors feature dim lighting, red colored leather sofas, tall wooden tables, and ragged interiors with hardly any wall decoration.

The Flying Monk, the name instantly catches anyone by surprise! Situated near AJC Bose Road, at Woodburne Park, this Oriental restaurant specializes in South-East Asian (Japanese, Singaporean, Korean, Malaysian, Indonesian, Thai) cuisine. It mainly targets the sophisticated upper class of South Kolkata who would not mind to spend some extra to taste innovative food from the South-East Asian countries which are rarely available in stand-alone eateries (not 5-stars). The theme of the restaurant revolves around Chinese puzzles or Tangrams and gives the ambiance a funky feel.

Well there are very few in Kolkata who haven't heard about Jimmy's Kitchen. Serving one of the best Chinese food for more than a decade, it is a favorite haunt for young and aged both. Situated near Kala Mandir on AJC Bose Road, it remains filled up in weekends and in most weekday evenings too. The Decor is simple and easy on the eyes. Sitting arrangement is pretty good with comfortable sofas and chairs. They also serve alcoholic beverages and the collection is quite varied.

Situated just beside China Garden & opposite to Beijing, this Bar cum Chinese Restaurant is yet another eatery in Chinatown (Tangra) that offers authentic Chinese cuisine & drinks at very reasonable and inexpensive prices. Golden Empire has 2 doors at the main entrance from the road, one leading to the ground floor bar area frequented mostly by office workers or a friends group and the other leading to the above 2 floors each having air-conditioned dining spaces designed for family grouping. The decor is pretty interesting with Chinese artwork on the walls and some Oriental showpieces.

Calcutta Club is a social club located on Lower Circular Road in Kolkata. It was established in 1907 and the first president of the club was H.H. The Maharajah of Cooch Behar. Although not the oldest private members club in the city, it is notable because it was formed at a time when the existing Bengal Club only admitted whites as members. Lord Minto, the Viceroy of India at the time, had wished to invite Rajen Mookerjee to dine at the Bengal Club and, when the discriminatory policy was thus exposed, a decision was taken to form a club with a membership policy not dictated by race. The Calcutta Club remains a popular social hub for the wealthy in the city. Ironically, despite its origins as a reaction to discrimination, the club has historically restricted membership to men. However, this was changed in 2007 and the club started admitting women members.

This multi-cuisine restaurant is very spacious and has two separate siting areas. One for the non alcohol consuming crowd and another for those who wants to have alcoholic beverages along with the food.

The bar cum restaurant section has much more comfortable sitting arrangement compared to the normal restaurant section. The decor is soothing with couches and chairs to sit upon.

HAKA is the ideal place for people who like to have a low-priced Chinese buffet meal. The food here has its own unique taste which is quite different from the Chinese Restaurants of Chinatown (Tangra). It is another restaurant of the Speciality Group, which are the owners of Mainland China. It also has a la carte menu, which has a few takers. The buffet menu has both good numbers of vegetarian and non-veg dishes. For a large group of persons over 10 or 15, it would be a good choice to go for buffet, where each one can have his / her food at their own choice of food from the buffet items, rather than to waste time in making a long list of orders going through the menu. Lazeez means "delicious" in Urdu.... and the name is pretty appropriate given the quality of food they serve. Located in Elgin Road, this restaurant is a good family eating place for any occasion. With a lot of sitting space, it can accommodate at least 100 people at a time and in spite of that you may have to wait to get a seat in festive occasions. The cuisine is both Indian and Chinese though the Indian part scores over the Chinese in the field of taste. The menu is well divided and you may take your pick from starters like kebabs and tandoori items, various type of rotis, rice items like biriyani, pulao or simple plain rice.

Dhania Murg

In this section the navratan pulao stands out, with a mix of exotic vegetable and fruits topped off with cheese it will make you feel like a king.
The side dishes are very tasty and compliments the main dishes. There are chicken, mutton and fish items in the non veg section while the veg section has got paneer and other items. The fish begum bahar is an outstanding dish and you should make it a point not to miss it if you ever visit this place. As decorative as the name, it contains a large fillet of fish stuffed  with cheese and nuts served in a tasty gravy of Indian spices.

Chicken Reshmi Masala

In the chicken section the dhania murg and chicken reshmi masala are praiseworthy. Dhania murg, as the name suggests, is made of coriander as the main spice. Succulent pieces of chicken dipped in a green gravy makes a mouthwatering dish. The chicken reshmi masala is as good as in other quality restaurants. Green salads or raita's goes best with these type of dishes. If you want you can also opt for cold beverages like fresh lime soda, mocktails and soft drinks.

With Linkin Park, Bon Jovi, Jimi Hendrix and Bob Marley posters around and reasonable prices of drink, it is a favorite haunt for an evening out drinking with friends. The interior lights are dim and the black leather sofas are large and comfy. There is a large lcd screen that usually shows live matches on sports channels. Rock music plays in the background after 6 pm that sets up the mood for party revelers.

Debonair, the most popular food joint in the Dum Dum Cantonment region, hosts a bar in the ground floor and a fully fledged centrally air-conditioned restaurant, pizza counter and ice-cream parlor on the first floor. They also have conference rooms and banquet halls for private parties. The popularity is mainly because it faces no competition from others and local people have no other choice. Strangely though, they serve an assortment of food from varieties of cuisines like Indian, Chinese, Thai, Mongolian, Italian, South-Indian, Mexican, Mughlai & European /Continental and also Beverages, Drinks, Desserts at a descent rate. There are also live-band performances in weekend (Every Sat & Sun) evenings, the peak times for the crowd to rush in. The interiors are simple with ordinary cushioned steel chairs & tables with average lighting. If you are looking for authentic Mongolian food, you may visit this place as the food is quite good especially the Debonair Special Soup and Mongolian Thali. The recommended dishes are Fish Finger, Fried Momo, Sweet Corn Soup for Chinese starters; and Chinese Hotch Potch, Baby-corn in hot garlic sauce, Chinese Chop Suey, Chicken Cantonese style, chicken casserole, Chilli Chicken, Chicken with Schezwan Sauce, Mixed Fried-Rice for the main course. From the Indian & Mughlai section, Chicken Achaari Kebab and Chicken Butter Masala are great in taste and the chicken very soft. As tail-endings for a meal, ice-cream with hot chocolate sauce, pancakes with vanilla icecream and concort (fizzy drinks mixed with icecream) are worth a try. The service is poor due to the arrogant nature of the staff. Though nowadays, the staff is monitored through CCTV cameras. The average price for two persons is Rs. 500-600 approximately.
