After a long spell of shopping at the Axis Mall of Rajarhat, when your feet are tired and you are hungry, go to Mehak-e-Punjab beside the food court. This multi-cuisine restaurant is very spacious and has two separate siting areas. One for the non alcohol consuming crowd and another for those who wants to have alcoholic beverages along with the food.

The bar cum restaurant section has much more comfortable sitting arrangement compared to the normal restaurant section. The decor is soothing with couches and chairs to sit upon.

The Menu (provided below) is divided into Three parts namely Chinese, Indian and Mughlai. There's a separate wine menu also.

The Indian and Mughlai fare is way better than the Chinese part. The service is prompt and the tables and dishes are spic and span. In the Indian part, the chicken tandoori is one of the best I had in town. the pieces were really well made, wit the perfect balance of spices and seasoning and served hot with a delicious green pudina chutney.

The main course had rices, biriyani, pulao and rotis along with veg and non-veg side dishes to go with them. The chicken kolhapuri  is spicy and refreshing, blending well with any hand made flat bread or roti. Served in a small kadhai it is the right choice for spicy dish.

Hunan chicken

The Chinese part consists of soups, starters, rice, noodles, chicken, prawn and fish items.The schezwan mixed noodles is a bit spicy and tastes like any other Chinese restaurant. But the Hunan chicken I had ordered was a big disappointment. First of all it was white in color and secondly it was bland unlike the spicy ones I had in other Chinese eateries.

The prices of alcoholic beverages are pretty reasonable and won't burn a whole in your pocket. Beer cans cost Rs. 80 whereas Indian whiskeys are in the range of Rs. 90 - 160 per 60 ml peg. If you want to throw a party with good Indian and Mughlai food along with wine and drinks then do pay a visit to this place. A complete meal for two persons (Without Alcohol) will cost Rs.400 plus tax approximately.
