Tandoori Chicken

AB'S Dilli Durbar is an air-conditioned multi-cuisine restaurant situated in the Uttarapan shopping complex in Ultadanga. The décor is very simple with couches & cushioned wooden chairs. The tables are covered with ordinary plastic table covers. The only thing worth mentioning is the glass façade on two sides of the hall that gives a glimpse of the teeming streets of CIT Road and buses & trams hustling through it. And since the noises do not enter the eatery, it’s quite a spectacular view.

The traditional North Indian fare and popular Chinese cuisine gives a wide variety to the spread. For appetizers, you could try Jal Jeera (Rs. 30) along with Tandoori Chicken (Rs. 280 Full). The Tandoori Chicken was succulent and well-prepared with a perfect balance of spices.

For the main course you could try Mutton Lababdar (Rs. 260) (which serves Boneless Mutton 6 pcs. in a thick creamy gravy garnished with butter), Kadai Chicken (Rs. 240) (which is a bit oily & spices containing oinions, shredded chicken, tomatoes in sweet reddish gravy) and Masala Kulcha (Rs. 35) or Tandoori Roti (Rs. 25). The Kulchas are heavy as it contains potatoes and spices in it. Other dishes that are worth mentioning are the Durbar’s new Tandoori Khazana along with the Maha Biryani, Butter Chicken, Kashmiri Mutton, Sarson da Saag and Makki di Roti, apart from the curries, dals, Chicken Stew and Fish Fry. The Chinese section of the Menu contains normal dishes of Chowmein, Fried Rice, Manchurian, Chilli & garlic chicken and others. The Chinese items are not available on some days and I would recommend you to go for the Indian cuisine only.

As I had visited at a time when the restaurant was almost empty with only a few guests, the service was found to be prompt. The waiters served each dish on the table to each person and were always attentive. They should modernize their entrance staircase and put up some clear visible hoarding outside. A complete meal for two persons will cost around Rs. 600 (inclusive of taxes).
