Wow! Momo outlet at City Center (Salt Lake)

Wow! Momo is a fast food restaurants chain based largely in Kolkata, which offers mainly momo, a dumpling originating from Nepal & Tibet and thukpa. It was established in 2008 by Sagar Daryani and Binod Homagai, alumni of St. Xavier's College, Kolkata. It has spread across to the cities of Chennai, Pune, Bangalore and Coimbatore. As of end 2011, it has expanded to more than 20 outlets in India.

Chicken Steamed Momo

I had ordered some take away momos & desserts from their City Center (Salt Lake) Outlet. The momos come in aluminum foil boxes in 5 pieces per plate costing Rs. 70 – 80. The filling had finely minced meat, onions, garlic, coriander and was perfectly steamed. The translucent coating was soft. The picture of chocolate momos on their menu (provided below) attracted me, but turned out to be a big disappointment. It had fillings of somewhat dry brownie type of cake and the chocolate sauce did not merge in well enough. The coating was very rigid. Wow! Momo has the following 8 outlets around Kolkata, so do order some take away momos as evening snacks from the one near your place!
