In spite of the hot, humid and sweaty weather of Kolkata, people love to utter the words "Flame and Grill". It instantly reminds one of 'KEBABS" and various sumptuous Indian dishes. Flame and Grill is one of the finest restaurants serving amazing kebabs and yes of course a never-ending delicious buffet!! Flame and Grill is in the topmost floor of the hugely popular South City Mall, a perfect place to attract the crowd! The ambience of the restaurant gives you the rejuvenated feeling of getting ready to indulge yourself in the pool of kebabs and many more items. The entire decor has a dark and wooden look!! The restaurant can comfortably accommodate more than 50 persons and the entire atmosphere makes one feel composed and active simultaneously! The restaurant has an interesting work of art, also used as a partition! It stretches from the ceiling till the floor in the form of a grid with each square containing a bottle of spice, herbs or masala!! To talk about the sitting arrangement, the tables, which are low in height along with wooden long chairs accommodating 2 people atleast! The most interesting fact about the table is its attatched "hot wok" (personal grill chamber)!!

Mutton Sheekh Kebab

Once the people are seated, the kebabs are served in long skewers and get grilled upon the hot wok!! Various kebabs are served, such as Chicken Reshmi Kebab, Mutton Sheekh Kebab, Fish Kebab, Prawn Kebab, Paneer Kebab and many more! Although the menu changes every day, one can choose from Ajwaini Fish Tikka, Methi Jhinga, Hariyali Chooza Kebab. Vegetarians need not despair as they have plenty of options too: there's a decent veggie spread as well. Paneer Patiala, Achaari Aloo (pickled half-grilled potatoes), Tandoori Mushrooms, Charmoula Barbecue Paneer and Hara Bhara Kebab among others, keep the green brigade pleased. These are served until the consumers get tired of it, but actually a true foodie will never get tired of it because of each of its unique & splendid taste! Kebabs are followed by a lavish buffet arrangement.

The buffet starts on with a variety of both Veg and Non-Veg Salads leading on to various breads like Naan or Kulcha. There are basically 2-3 veg items and 2-3 non-veg items to go along with the bread and rice. Under the veg section, there is Kaali Daal, Saag Paneer, Navaratan Korma, Soya Eggplant and Veg Polao. In the non-veg section there is the all time favourite Chicken Biriyani, Kadai Gosht, Prawn. One actually gets tired after this sumptuous array of food, but it’s not done yet!! The Desserts are yet to attack!! The desserts are just mouthwatering! Strawberry Cake, Bread Pudding, Hot Gulab Jamun and Ice-Cream of different flavors served with hot chocolate sauce, becomes 'sinfully' yours!!

There is also a Bar with a wide variety of wines, scotch & beers (both Indian & Imported). You can try mocktails like Sigree Punch (Tropical banquet of Orange, Mango & Pineapple juice topped with Vanilla Ice Cream), Pina Colada, King Alphonso and Frozen Lychee. The service has degraded considerably in the past few years and there is much delay in refills of kebabs on weekends. This eatery faces stiff competition in the market at present as there are many restaurants in town offering such buffet at much lower prices. Weighing the pros and cons, Flame and Grill still gives you an overall amazing experience of FOOD n DRINKS and FUN!!
