Like Mags & Olypub, this bar cum Chinese restaurant, Silver Grill has been an old hangout zone for college students and after office crowd for well over three decades. The cheap prices of alcoholic drinks & classic cocktails are the major thing that attracts its regular customers of Park Street. It has two levels, the ground floor having the bar counter and the first floor restaurant invites only family. The interiors feature dim lighting, red colored leather sofas, tall wooden tables, and ragged interiors with hardly any wall decoration.

Boneless Chilly Chicken

The food is a bit over priced as per its quality and service. Popular orders are Pepper Chicken, Dry Chilli Chicken, Crispy Chicken, Roast Pork, Crispy Baby Corn and Singapore Chicken. The quantity is good as they serve 8 pieces in any chicken side dish or starter. However a lot of the items on their menu (provided below) were not available. We ordered some breezer which was not on the menu, for which they charged Rs. 120. While we ordered some vodka, we had ordered Limca along with it, but even before it was served, I had asked the server to change it to Lime Codial, but he had refused to do so saying the order was already taken which was kind of absurd as fizzy drinks like Limca does not require preparation & can easily be changed if it’s seal is not yet broken. And they also have a lack of manpower sometimes, as during our visit, we found only 2 waiters serving around and taking orders in the entire place.

This restaurant has not been able to keep up with the standards of new restaurants that have cropped up in every corner of the Park Street area. Their service needs a lot of improvement. Even till date they have hand written bills and do not accept credit / debit cards. The cost of a meal (without alcohol) for two persons will be around Rs. 650 (inclusive of taxes). It is wise advice to visit this place only for a few shots of drinks & for some well-known starters.
